Angie has worked as a Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist in the Sugar Land area for over 20 years; 13 of it was based out of an out-patient orthopedic rehab facility. So, she has had much experience with a very diverse clientele.

However, once Angie began studying the specifics of working with Kettlebells, she was hooked!!

She believes that it is the most effective exercise tool for any fitness level and one that will keep you “honest!” She knew she wanted to open a gym in order  to teach and encourage others to use kettlebells; in either a one on one or class setting.

“Iron Strength” is one of the only known facilities in Fort Bend County that actually teaches proper and safe use of kettlebells through the StrongFirst system.

Eric Grimsley

Eric graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. He is an American College of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer. Eric played three years of football at the collegiate level while attending Texas State University. He has worked as a sports performance specialist and as a Physical and Occupational Therapy Technician, helping with rehabilitation treatments.

Eric is enthusiastic about helping people get in shape. He enjoys motivating others and pushing them to new limits. Working out and staying active is key to living a healthy life and Eric is ready and waiting to help. He uses a screening process to evaluate his clients to see if there are any imbalances in the body that need to be addressed. From there, he is able to develop a program that uses the FMS, Original Strength (, and StrongFirst principles ( to help develop mobility, stability, and strength. You will move better, feel better, and be more confident!

Eric grew up and currently resides in Missouri City with his wife Alejandra. He enjoys working out and staying active. He has played sports most of his life. After playing sports in college, he did martial arts to stay in shape. Eric likes to spend time with his family and friends and spends his free time fishing, relaxing, watching sports and being with his wife.

Eric’s Fitness Philosophy: Find Your Inner Strength – Eric believes that if you have the right mindset and discipline, you can achieve any goal you set. You have to dig deep and uncover the strength inside.

Tara Duncan

Tara’s passion is for the well-being of people of all ages. She enjoys helping people realize their potential in exercise and motivating them to make exercise a part of their lifestyle. She is a proponent of learning while having fun with her personal training clients and in the classes she leads.

Tara has a particular fondness for kids, having worked with kids for 25 years, first in the public education system in Georgia, and then in preparing kids for kindergarten after moving to Houston in 1998. With the epidemic of childhood obesity growing each year, she is motivated to make a difference. Her method of emphasizing fun with fitness helps kids attain lifelong fitness habits.

Tara’s fitness philosophy: Integrate exercise into your life for physical and mental strength. Make it a part of your lifestyle.

Tara grew up in Atlanta and currently resides in Sugar Land with her husband, daughter, and 2 black labs. She enjoys working out, reading, traveling and activities with her dogs.

    Did my initial assessment with Eric this week. Then did a couple of circuits of a typical routine and really loved it! It is a whole new slant on working out. The 20 mins I completed here felt more effective than an hour workout I would normally do at the gym. I’m excited to get started!

    I’ve been working out at IS for 1 1/2 yrs. and love the results. I enjoy the classes and individual sessions. The trainers really work with you to have a quality (and safe) workout. The stress proper form over quantity or weight. I am 44 and believe I am in better shape than I ever was (if the compliments are any indication!) :)
